I LOVE spring & the flowers it brings! I know I'm a dork, but flowers make me happy!!! Just seeing them grow & do well makes me smile. I spent most of last weekend planting and it was so fabulous, I loved it!
This is a seperator from Scotts grandparents farm. My Mother in Law had it before they moved to Florida & it became mine. She always had it the prettiest flowers in it. I haven't had the best of luck with it, but I still try every year. I'm convinced one of these years I'll figure it out! I love this old thing, it's my favorite.
We just have a few flower beds. A couple around our front trees, and one long one in front of our front porch. The rest of my flowers have to go in flower pots. I think I have some pretty cool ones. I love them. I love flowers!! I love Spring!! Happy flower planting weather to everyone!

you are not a dork. flowers make me happy too. only I buy them at a store, and put them in my house, in vases, until they die. then I do it again.
sigh.
it's my best bet, everything else dies on me. worst. gardener. ever.
but hey, I keep my kids alive - that counts right?

Gracie has decided that when we move and finally get settled that we need to buy one of those Roll and Grow things they advertise 18 times an hour lately on TV.
My thumb is so NOT green though, I might even mess that up.

Cecily~ I don't think you could screw that up! I think you should try it!! The separator was the crank thing that separated the cream from the milk. Or something like that!
I love me some flowers too. I haven't had a chance to get any in the ground or pots yet though. I have to soon!

The summer heat is already starting to kill the flowers that I planted last October. But my roses from Christmas are doing great! I was reading today that flowers help people combat depression. Some Harvard study proved it!
Supercoolmom~ I totally believe that! My Grandma had a great garden & always did, even when she wasn't in any condition to work much in it. But, when the rain (she lived in Northern California) made it so she couldn't get out you could really see a difference in her!
I really do love them they make me happy!
I also think of Grandma when I see beautiful gardens. Hers were always magical to me as a kid - the smells, the hidden secret paths and fountains, and just the FEEL of it - like anything could happen in a place like that!
Margaret~ They were magical places! I wish she had passed on her secret! I think it might have just been her that made them magic! She was the BEST! I always think of her when I see purple Iris. I planted a big huge one smack dab in the middle of my biggest flower bed! Nothing says Grandma to me like purple Iris! They make me smile & miss her all at once!

Your flowers are beautiful. Spring has arrived late here. We have one iris blooming. Irises are my very favorite flower. Flowers do bring smiles to the face and happiness to the heart.
Your flowers are gorgeous! I was planting outdoor pots this week too... it was very relaxing!

I can testify that Kate worked hard planting her pretty flowers. I caught her in the act! Your yard looks great and that's good because hopefully people will look at your flowers and not notice my weeds!
