That's what the doc said 2 seconds after looking at Sammys poor little bent and broken arm.
Don't worry though, BEFORE THE DOCTORS appointment, I sent him to school and told him he was fine! Yep, I'm waiting for my Mother of the Year award... I hear it's coming any day now.
No really, it's on it's way.
It obviously hasn't slowed him down any!
He actually broke it at his Aunties house. He fell off a fence and landed on a rock. So when his Auntie dropped him off that night he had it wrapped up in an ace bandage looking all bulky and crazy, (he wrapped it all by himself). The next morning he said it hurt and, me being the fantastic Mom that I am, I told him to get dressed we were late for school. (I know I rock) About an hour into school he called crying and horribly upset, he couldn't hold the crayon to color. So I ran down to school to pick him up. As he was getting into the car he was jumping around being his normal crazy self, and I thought that little crap just snowed me! When we got home he sat on the couch to watch a show and I got a good look at his arm. YUCK, it looked like a bent spaghetti noodle! Ewwww..... I tried to check it out at different angle without freaking him out, and yep it was definitely not right! It looked like a white twizzler! Oh my hell, how did I miss that?
No, the story isn't over...
We get an appointment and run down the hill to the doctor. Just as we were called back Sammy announces that he had to go potty. We get back into the exam room, and I take him next door to use the restroom. He said he was fine, so I went back to the exam room to answer the nurses questions. The nurse gets done with the paperwork, and Sammy still isn't done. I go to the door and knock, and he says he's fine and he's going. So, I head back to the room. The doctor then comes in, I answer all his questions, still no Sammy. Yes, I went back to the door to knock and Sammy said he was hurrying. So I head back to the doctor and asked him a few things about prescription refills, we talked about the weather, no Sammy. Oh my hell it's been 15 minutes what is he doing? I go back to the door only to hear a very sad little, "Mom I need help." So I have to get into the bathroom to see what the problem is, only to find the poor little guys shorts slipped off his legs when he climbed up, and he couldn't get dressed by himself. Holy crap, I suck, he was trying so hard to get dressed and he couldn't use his bent little mangled arm. Yes, I know I suck.
We FINALLY make it to the exam room, and the doctor says... "Well clearly it's broken." Within the first 5 seconds of looking at Sammy. Yes again, clearly I suck.
So, we did all the x~rays. He was splinted for a few days before he got the hard cast. He picked a lovely shade of bright red for his cast and now he has a real live weapon attached to his arm! Only 4 to 6 weeks to go!
Sorry Sammy you have a lame-o Mommy!
