Silly Cousins

Savannah & Ryanne are two of the goofiest girls ever! This week was Ryannes birthday, and the girls had a couple sleepovers. They were more than a little crazy! So we hung out and listened to music, and this is them showing me some of their "moves". They are seriously hilarious! They're crazy too, but fun! Cute cousins!
Avery Lyn & Sammy went to Grandma Robins house for a sleepover for one of the family reunion events, so the "big" girls stayed here with me to help with Brooke. I definitely needed the help with Brooke too, she had a throat infection, and was not a happy little baby. Not to mention the fact that she didn't sleep for about 4 days. It wasn't fun for her, or for her Mommy!
Brooke is feeling better now, & we hope it stays that way!
Cute kids!!

Happy 24th of July!!

We had a GREAT Pioneer Day! We had lunch at our house with the Hellbusch cousins, Gramma Robin & Uncle Jay. After lunch we had a water balloon toss with the little kids. It was pretty comical, they didn't quite get how to make it "toss" out of their towel. But it was tons of fun, and Auntie Re Re (Kari) had great prizes for them. The above pictures are of the toss, and then the bottom is Avery Lyn, Emmie, and Sammy with their lovely prizes. They were pretty cute!!
I didn't get the best pictures, but the big kids decided to have a water balloon fight to beat the heat. And, of course everyone wanted a piece of it! I even had to run out of the way to protect the cameras a few times. It didn't help that Kari kept hiding behind me either! ha ha! It was a very fun and laid back day. Thanks guys!
It was a nice and simple little party to help remind us of our pioneer ancestors and their sacrifices they made for us. I just know that I couldn't have done what they did, and I'm very grateful that I didn't have to. They were amazing people! Happy Pioneer Day!

Snuggle Bugs!

Grandma Alger, Avery Lyn, and Brookie, snuggled in for a nice little nap! Grandma and Brooke started to doze off together and Avery Lyn climbed up and snuggled in too. It was too sweet!

Yesterday Little Aunt Katie took Sammy to see Transformers for his second time. While they saw that, my mother in law Laurel and I took the girls to see Hairspray. It was fabulous! I was dying to see it, and the little girls loved it too!! I can't wait to get my hands on the new soundtrack, I love it! It was a fun day out, and Brookie was great in the movie. (I was a little nervous) Thanks girls, it was a great day out!!

Last night we had a "card party" at Aunt Jans house. I actually didn't make too many there, and had to leave a little early. So, I got some great ideas and came home put the kids to bed and then made cards by myself. It was kind of fun! I don't know how cute they are, but I had fun doing them. I was just being my own buddy. It was great. I actually hung out with Brooke while I made them. It was a fun night!

We have the Reid Family Reunion this week. We should have a few fun days ahead. I think I'm actually going to brave 7 Peaks by myself with the 4 kids. (I say by myself, but there will be tons of family there) it should be fun!

CRAZY WEEK

We have had a crazy week. Scott had a training meeting for work yesterday. It was in downtown Salt Lake, and it just happened to be in the Wells Fargo Building. Which for those of you who live here and know, there was a bomb threat in that building yesterday. So, Scott had to be evacuated with everyone else. They did catch the guy, but they didn't let Scott's group back onto his floor, so the training meeting was cut short. And of course when they knew everything was safe, he was actually glad that the meeting broke up early. It got him out of about 3 hours of meetings.
Dance has started again! We have done "dance camp" the last 2 days and tomorrow is team auditions. Savannah has decided to try out again this year. She loves it, so we will most likely be doing competitions again next year. All 4 of my sister Karis girls are trying out also, so we have 5 girls down at the studio the last couple days, all at different times. We have alot of girls! I know the girls are excited, but it makes me sad. It feels like the summer is already over! Too crazy!
Kari had her CT scan for her hip on Monday, and the result appointment today. They left us in the waiting room so long today I thought Kari was going to crawl right out of her skin! The news was much better than we were expecting! She has healed enough to start putting weight on it. They will of course keep checking every couple weeks to check the progress. She does have a cyst that is showing, but nothing that should cause a problem. Good news!
We still have a few busy days ahead of us, but at least we know Kari doesn't need surgery tomorrow. That is a huge load off!
The kids have been so good, with how busy things have been they have been great! Hanna came up and babysat Sammy and Avery Lyn for me today. She's having a sleepover with us too! Too fun, the kids love to have sleepovers with the older girls. They are eating popcorn upstairs & watching a movie. They are in heaven!
I couldn't resist putting in a picture of cute Brooke in her little Party Dress. She was all dressed up with no where to go. Well except ride around in the car seat! She's too precious!
Hope you are all having a great week!

Construction has Begun!

The Basement Project in underway! It's all framed, and the electrician and plumbers will be out on Monday. It is moving right along. Scott's sister "Little Katie" is moving out here to go to school, and she is going to be living in our new basement. She starts school the end of August, so we need to get it done. We'll be adding two more bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. I am getting really excited too! How nice will it be to have all that extra room & have Katie here all the time!
We went shopping today to find a vanity for the bathroom and entertainment center type built ins for the living room. I'm already having a great time pickin stuff out!
I helped my mother in law Laurel put together an Alger family reunion blog for the reunion next summer. It looks great, and should be a perfect place to communicate for the upcoming events and deadlines for the planning of the reunion. It's one of my links, if you would like to look at it. There are some great family pictures from reunions past on there. They are good stuff!
Next week is looking pretty crazy, we have family in town, friends from Colorado in town, Kari has some tests they want to run on her leg, and the girls have dance auditions. Nuts! It's going to be Busy Busy!

CHUBBY BABY GIRL

Sweet Little Brooke! She is so funny, and starting to develop her personality. She's gotten a little more demanding the last couple of days. Not quite as laid back as she has been the first month of her life. She is still so good compared to other newborns I can't complain! She's so sweet! I took her in for her check up today. Last time she was in she was still underweight, so we had to take her in again. And, this time there was no question of her being underweight. She's a chubabubba! She weighs 9 lbs now!! Holy Cow. She is off to a good start now. My friend Melia had her baby boy Truman Sawyer on Saturday night, and he weighed the same as Brooke, 7 lbs. 2 oz. and seeing Brooke next to Truman now, she looks GINORMOUS, (as Sammy would say). She's filling out that is for sure!
This isn't the best picture, but this is Brooke all done up in her party dress for Grandpa Johnsons 88th Birthday Party. His birthday was last Saturday and we had a Party for him at the Lamberts house. She was definitely a hit, I don't think she was put down the whole day! In fact when the family visitors go home, we're going to have one spoiled baby here cuz she is constantly being held. She looked so sweet in her little dress and HUGE bow! She's precious!

These pics were just from the other day. She just looked so big to me all of a sudden. She is a sweet baby girl! We love her and we're so glad she's getting chubby!!
Love Ya - Kate & family

Dinosaur Quarry!

Scott took the kids to Price last weekend. They went with Grandma & Grandpa Alger, Little Aunt Katie, and the Lambert Family. They got to visit the Dinosaur Quarry & Museum, which Sammy just couldn't wait to do! This is Sammy, Avery, Tanner, Savannah, & Allison. They had tons of fun, especially with their cousins!

They had such a fun weekend. They got to have sleepovers at the Hotel, swim at the Price wavepool, see the fun dinosaur stuff, and visit all the old Alger Family Homesteads.

I had a fun weekend too! I got to stay home and play with Brooke, it was fabulous!! I had her pictures taken, walked around the mall, had a sleepover with my sister, and watched 2 chick flix I've been wanting to see. Thanks guys for a great break!!

I'm a little out of order, they went to Price before the 4th of July. I'm not sure why these didn't get posted before. I'm a little out of it. But in any order, we all had a great weekend. Mine was a lot more relaxing than Scotts, but they still had a great time. Thanks!!

HaPpY 4th!

We had such a great 4th of July. A nice relaxing morning, we decided no to hit the Granite Parade this year. So we had a great laid back morning. Then we headed to the Lamberts for a BBQ with the Alger family. We had great food and the kids played with cousins and got to swim. It was great! After the Lambert party we went to the Hellbuschs for fireworks. The kids thought that was fabulous! Scott and Tim even let them light some fireworks. They were in Heaven.
Big sister Savannah and Brooke, looking all cute in our front yard. Savannah is too cute with her baby sister. She has been such a great helper!
"Sissy" and Brooke, another cute pair of sisters! Avery Lyn loves her Brookie too. She's too cute with her, and always wants to hold her.
Sammy and "Bwookie" he wanted to hold her by himself, that still is a little sketchy so I helped out a little. He's such a stud!
This is me snuggling Brooke during fireworks. They were a little too loud for her, so I was trying to cover her little ears. She is such a snuggle bug!

Well, we had a great 4th of July, and we hope ya'll did too! God Bless the USA, we want to Thank and Bless the Troops who make this all possible! Happy Independence Day!!!

Best Buds!!

Daddy & Sammy, are best buddies!! When Scott is home Sammy is 2 steps behind him! Scott went outside to cut the grass and Sammy came in and had me get his gloves and ski goggles (or safety glasses) so he could even look like his daddy. He is such a funny kid, and they are too cute together. Too funny, Scott and his little mini me. They did a great job on the yard too! Cute boys.
