A RUT...

So, my friends do you ever feel like you're in a rut? A big huge rut, that is impossible to climb out of. Well, I do. In fact I've felt trapped by this damn rut for months now. I feel like I clean up the same messes in the same rooms. Yell the same things at my cute/stinky kids. Repeat the same instructions over and over and over until I'm pretty sure I am in fact talking to the wall. Buy the same groceries for the same meals. Drive the same carpools. Then fall into bed where I don't actually sleep (because I'm psychotic), so I can climb out of bed a couple hours later to start all over again. So, that is me in a nutshell, I'm a lunatic & I keep thinking that something is wrong with me! So what do we do when the Mom is a little on the crazy side? We make a huge tent in the living room and have a sleepover! Woo Hoo! It's amazing how cool these kids are and how a few old sheets tied to kitchen chairs makes for a GREAT time! Score!
Yep those are their little legs under our cool dinosaur tent. We watched a few movies, ate popcorn and chocolate milk. Nothing could be better!
* I guess this rut, is just being a Mommy and I don't always do my best to remember it. But I wouldn't change this for anything! In fact when I do sit back and think about things I realize just how fast it's all flying by! So I'm changing my tune, bring on the rut!!

( Just a little side note, look at the little sneaky baby. Should I be frightened? Well, I am!)
~
**Tonight I am toasting my Diet Coke to my RUT! Thanks to my kids for reminding me that it's a good thing!! And, for reminding me to be a little more Pollyanna about things!!
(that's for you Cec!)

Sorry. It must be too late to think up snappy comments. I am sooo there in that same rut with you. I haven't set up the tent yet though. Fun stuff!

oh dear - I actually needed to hear that . . . I just told my hubs a week ago that I was bored to tears at home . . . "in the runt" same old same old. But it is not really! It is a joy!

Isn't there a camp song, "I'm a nut,(clap, clap)in a rut"? Just keep singing that!! I just have to keep reminding myself that these are the "rut years" and one day I will wish I was still there. Cool tent. Did your sleep over go better than ours?

You forgot to add the chocolate to the "diet" coke. Who the Heck drinks diet, it takes the fun out of the coke, and while you're at it, mix it up with some candy. Then, let's see who can hold up longer, cute little buggers or mom on sugar rush....Welcome to "crazyland" the craziest place on earth. (so my mom told me, you know she knows "everything")

KATE.....I know, I know. I totally suck a duck AGAIN. PLEASE forgive me for not being here sooner and for not calling and for not texting. You have to know if I had any control over the situation I would be calling everyday. SO. You call me and I'll explain. I am SO SO SORRY!

I could have written these exact words!
It's such a catch 22 of not wanting to miss the few years we get and going batsh** over the monotony.
I'm craving a job and yet -- what the crap job works around the school crap? I'm seriously watching for a lunch lady position or something.
I could totally serve some mash potatoes and canned peaches and all that lunch crap.

You called it, I have been in a rut lately too! Actually I have been in a blogging rut lately. I just feel uninspired to write anything interesting and fun, so I haven't posted much. I haven't been online near as much either, I've missed catching up with you and your family. It's too funny, we were all bored around here so I set up a tent in the toyroom, threw in a movie and made chocolate milk! Only difference is the popcorn and lack of space in the tent, it fits small children perfectly, but adults...not so much!

Hope all is well!
