3rd Grade Program & Tiger Lilly

Here are ALL the 3rd graders from the school. I don't have a great camera, so it's not a great picture. They all looked so cute! They were dressed up like Pilgrims or Native Americans. They did a few little dances on stage & sang some fun songs. It was such a cute little program!
Way to go Savannah! Too cute, you were a fabulous Tiger Lilly!
Somehow the cute picture I took of Savannah in her sweet little Native American costume didn't save on the camera. There she is waiting to start singing her song. Her costume turned out so cute, if I do say so myself.
Savannah "reminded" me for the 400th time that she needed her costume done. I just didn't realize that the Program was upon us. (I really kept thinking we had another week, I'm a dork!)

So, we had this conversation:

Savannah: "Um, Mom we still need to get me a costume."
Me: "Holy Crap Savannah, I will figure something out tomorrow."
Savannah: (looking at me with a horribly teenage-ified look!)
"Um, YOU'RE going to figure something out?"
Me: "Yes, I'M going to figure something out."
Savannah: (again with that look, she was 2 seconds away from snapping her fingers & shaking her head)
"Um, Mom, YOU can't sew...you better just call Gramma!"

Thanks Savannah, I love you too! Stinky kid, those are the times in life when you're sorry you taught them how to talk.
She was right, however, I can't sew. So, I marched on down to our local DI, (thrift store) & found her a fabulous little suede type skirt with a jade belt attached to it. For the idiot mom who can't sew it was perfect. I just did a little elastic headband & "sewed" a few feathers into the back. (don't worry it looked like Savannah did it, I really stink at it)
Anyhow, it wasn't completely "authentic" but it worked. Now I have shared with everyone just what a loser I am!! But, she did look cute!
My little Tiger Lilly!

Avery & Sam love playing with my camera. So, we had a little photo shoot while we were waiting for the program to start. This is Sammy's camera work, taking a goofy picture Avery.
Avery returned the favor with a picture of the Mommy & the Sammy! Crazy kids. Fun Program Night. Tired Mommy. Tired Kids. Sick Baby... Tonight I'm toasting my Diet Coke to my cute kids, who are stinky, cranky, crazy & so so cute. Except I'm too tired to even walk out to the garage to get a Diet Coke... We'll just pretend, Okay.

The picture of Sam with "the lady"...is that really you? I saw it and thought, "who is that?" Must be a mom of another 3rd grader. When you said it was "the mom", I figured it was you!!! Your hair is really cute. We really need to get together if I don't even recognize you. Do you have a twin sister by chance? Yes, I'm a dork!!

Kami- yes, it's me. I had my hair done a couple weeks ago. It's pretty light now huh? She put red & brown highlights in too, but the front still is pretty blond!

Cecily- I SO do not look hot, but thanks it made me smile! I actually did my hair, Woo Hoo!!
& I'm not crafty at all!

Steph- I know, yay for the stinky 'ol DI, I got that little skirt I did her whole costume for about $5! Yay!

That's a great picture of you! Cecily's right! You look HOT in that picture!

I've taken to snapping several pictures just in case that "perfect" one I know I took didn't save. If I don't, chances are I'll be looking for that one picture off the camera and it won't be there.

Oh, and great job on being creative with the costume! So what if you can't sew - you're still crafty! (in the good way, of course...) :)

Hi - new here. I think you look a bit like Holly Hunter in that picture. I can't wait for the days of school plays and performances. I taught preschool and always loved those shows - soooo cute.

Sew, shmew!!! I can sew pretty well, yet you wouldn't find ME sewing a costume for a 3rd grade program! Throw it all together--just like you did, sista!

And I 2nd what everyone else is saying: you look so hot in the photo! Pretty mommy Kate. Your friend Kami's comment made me laugh..."is that really you?" A few weeks ago I went somewhere w/ Wendi & when she picked me up she said, "You look so cute! What did you do to your hair?" Me, giving her my Toy Story Angry Eyes, said, "Washed it. Dried it. Styled it."

Usually my hair is scraped back.

Jen- Nice to see ya! Thanks for the Holly Hunter comment. I'm loving you for that. Obviously that pic isn't what I really look like, so sad I look nothing like Holly. But I love her, so THANX!!

Crystal- You're hilarious! I know that's what was different about me. Washed & straightened my hair, it was a red freakin letter day!

How's baby Brooke? Any better?

KATE said...

Crystal- No, we're doing the coup/RSV thing. It's been fabulous! She's actually acting a little better until bedtime & then all hell breaks loose! Gotta love bouncing her until all hours! Yay!

When is too early to give a dose of Benadryl to get them to sleep?... ha ha I'm so just kidding, but it would be nice!
