Kharma or Karma?

Okay, so the carpeting is IN!! That is "Little Katie" vacuuming the basement family room. Holy cow, it is SO close to being done. The bathroom is not, but that is another story. I just have some minor touch ups to do with paint & we're done. Scott is buying blinds & doorknobs as we speak & it done! It looks so good too, (if I do say so myself) Scott & I even got the furniture down the stairs & around the crazy narrow hallway! Yay us! Just as I was feeling like it was all working out & good....
Our oldest comes running down the stairs to tell us the dishwasher is overflowing all over the kitchen floor. Thank goodness she saw it fast & it didn't leak anywhere in the basement! Phew... But, broken dishwasher!! I swear there are times that I think I must have been VERY VERY naughty in a previous life & it's coming back to haunt me. Karma sucks!! (I'm not sure how to spell that & I'm too lazy to go find out) Someone tell me it's just all normal & I'm not jinxed or cursed. Holy Cow! I'm also NOT from pioneer stock & the thought of doing dishes by hand makes my cringe. Of course the dishwasher was full & the sink had stuff in it too, cuz lets just say since this basement debacle I haven't been exactly as caught up as I'd like. So I have tons of dishes to wash BY HAND. I'm so glad I was born in the age of dishwashers. I hate washing by hand, & couldn't even imagine having to "fetch" the water, heat it over a fire, & then wash by hand! Well, maybe I did; in that previous life of mine, ha ha ha!
Then I look at this little thing & I have to admit I'm pretty lucky!! She was talking & laughing with her daddy! She is so sweet! Even when she's puking on me in the middle of the night, pooping out her diaper all over my lap, & screaming screaming & more screaming (she still isn't happy since her shots), I LOVE her! Oh, & her big sisters & brother & Scott did get up this morning & do a bunch of the dishes for me, so I guess I love him too! Ha ha ha!
Have a good weekend! I already got an entry for the recipe blog. I'll be posting it soon!!

haha! You're funny! Yeah, we're in Ogden. We totally should get together! We're always just hanging around, doing laundry and dishes, so a change of pace would be fun.

Okay, i just barely saw your comment on my couch, and i'm DYING! I had to show my hubby, cuz I couldn't believe my eyes...
We also have the SAME TABLE AND CHAIRS! Why am I yelling? I just can't believe it, that's sooo funny.
I'm not sure where we got the couch, cuz it's a hand me down. Steve's Aunt gave it to us. We got our table and chairs at Big Lots tho. Yours looks like the real deal, and i'm sure ours is fake. I love it tho. It's better than what we started with. We should totally get together, you would feel right at home at my house. haha

Tami- Shut up!! How freaking funny is that! You have GREAT taste, we got the couches from RC Willey.(you'll see it when I post the finished product in my basement) I'm sure it's from RC Willey, I know a few people with those couches. I'm so cracking up about the table & chairs. Mine are just about a year old. (we had crappy hand me downs, that were crappy before we got them) I got the table at Gardner Village, at the furniture store. I was on serious sale. How funny!!! I would have LOVED to find one at Big Lots, & I love that you shop at Big Lots, it's my favorite store!!

kate,

i am in south texas and dallas is what we consider north texas. boy lives there, and i am am somewhat familiar with it. dallas is very wannabe new york! in family speak, dalls is the sister who married well, and now she resents you because you didn't. lots of money there.

the weather is hot from april until september. the winters can be cold and some snow/sleet. it can be a great place to live. very urban.

if you need specifics, let meknow and if i don't know, i'll ask boy.

but i gotta say, i love texas. was born here; gonna be buried here.

Kate, thanks for dropping by and commenting on my QT post. I'm in Orem -- so if you'd like to drop me an email I happy to schedule an appointment.

On another note, I can't remember if I invited you to the Beautiful Bodacious Babbling Blogger Babes club we've organized here for anyone within driving distance of Orem. I'd love to have you join us for lunch on October 4th. Please pop over to the blog again and check out the info and then email me and let me know if you'd like to join us or not.

Have a great day! Your baby is darling. The carpet looks great. Booh on the dishwasher. Does that cover it?

Sorry about the dishwasher, I couldn't live without one either! My oldest keeps asking to learn to do the dishes by hand, but I don't even want to do them to teach her! I know it's a good life skill and all, but...seriously!
Sorry! Hope it gets fixed soon!

I've quit calling it karma and just consider it part of being a home-owner... And I absolutely abhor washing dishes, so I completely sympathize.

Also, I have a draft email started with recipes, but I haven't finished typing it up. I will get it to you soon, though!
